چکیده
A new material on the Neotropical genus Anaulacomera Stål, 1873 from its subgenera Anallomes 1875, Stenotegmora subgen. nov., Irisovia nov. and Munticercora Gorochov, 2020 is considered with description of six species one subspecies: A. (Anallomes) galarzai sp. Peru (Junin Department: Satipo Prov.); (A.) monicae (S.) adunca spinifera (Ucayali Atalaya originalis (I.) grigoryi (M.) sclerogenitalis woronovi subsp. Colombia (“Penas Blancos, Rio Magdalena”). The above-mentioned are distinguished all other this by following features: n. narrower tegmina, male genitalia a large median inflation dorsal fold; last abdominal tergite strongly denticulate posterior lobes, cerci short but thick distal processes having numerous spinule-like setae, membranous. For psedoepiproctalis s. 2020, some important geographical mistakes in their type data corrected (Ecuador Mexico instead Peru, respectively), for latter taxon, previously unknown female described.

On the family-group ranks of katydids (Orthoptera, Tettigoniidae).
The purpose of this note is to propose minor modifications to recent changes in the classification of katydids, to preserve the stability of the family Tettigoniidae as including all katydids. This concept has been used in the majority of references since it was established long ago (Krauss 1902), with comparatively few exceptions, where all katydid subfamilies were treated as families in super...
متن کاملEvolution of Novel Signal Traits in the Absence of Female Preferences in Neoconocephalus Katydids (Orthoptera, Tettigoniidae)
UNLABELLED BACKGROUND SIGNIFICANCE: Communication signals that function to bring together the sexes are important for maintaining reproductive isolation in many taxa. Changes in male calls are often attributed to sexual selection, in which female preferences initiate signal divergence. Natural selection can also influence signal traits if calls attract predators or parasitoids, or if calling is...
متن کاملTaxonomic notes on two species of bush katydids (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae: Phaneropterinae) from Bukit Fraser, Malay Peninsula.
Material based on a taxonomic collection in Bukit Fraser, Pahang of Malay Peninsula enables the review of two genera of bush katydid (Phaneropterinae). The female of Elimaea (Rhaebelimaea) pseudochloris Ingrisch, 1998 is described and recorded for the first time outside its type locality, Thailand. One new species of Pseudopsyra from Bukit Fraser is described: Pseudopsyra bispina sp. n.

A previously unknown radiation among flightless spring katydids (Tettigoniidae: Phaneropterinae: Brinckiella) in Western and Northern Cape provinces of South Africa is described. Seven species are described as new (B. aptera n. sp., B. arboricola n. sp., B. elegans n. sp., B. karooensis n. sp., B. mauerbergerorum n. sp., B. serricauda n. sp., and B. wilsoni n. sp.) and one species (B. viridis C...
متن کاملRevisiting adaptations of neotropical katydids (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) to gleaning bat predation
All animals have defenses against predators, but assessing the effectiveness of such traits is challenging. Neotropical katydids (Orthoptera: Tettigoniidae) are an abundant, ubiquitous, and diverse group of large insects eaten by a variety of predators, including substrate-gleaning bats. Gleaning bats capture food from surfaces and usually use prey-generated sounds to detect and locate prey. A ...
